About Christopher
Christopher Sachs is a wine and spirits professional based in Central New Jersey. His journey began at The Culinary Institute of America, where he trained in Culinary Arts and first discovered his passion for wine. After working in the restaurant industry at Ninety Acres (Peapack-Gladstone, NJ) and End of Elm (Morristown, NJ), Christopher shifted his focus to beverage education.
He pursued rigorous wine studies with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) at the International Wine Center in NYC, earning the Diploma in Wines and Spirits. His expertise extends to fortified and Italian wines, having achieved Certified Sherry Wine Specialist (CSWS) with Highest Honors and the prestigious title of Italian Wine Ambassador through VinItaly International Academy, making him one of fewer than 300 certified worldwide. He later became an Italian Wine Educator, further deepening his commitment to sharing Italy’s rich wine heritage.
In addition to wine and spirits, Christopher has developed an extensive knowledge of sake. He has completed John Gauntner's Sake Professional Course, Michael Tremblay's Sake Scholar Course, the WSET Level 3 in Sake, and the Sake School of America’s Sake Adviser Course, demonstrating his dedication to understanding and educating others about Japan’s national drink.
Currently, Christopher is a Sales Representative with Skurnik Wines & Spirits, consulting daily with retail and restaurant partners across NJ and NY.
He believes that wine, sake, and spirits are passports to the world, an idea embodied in his philosophy, Travel by Wine—where every bottle tells a story and transports you to a new place.
